Visiting St Chapelle and St Germaine

We took some time to visit St Chapelle - an absolutely beautiful jewel box of a church dating back to the mid 13th century, located on Ile de Cité. It is absolutely beautiful, and has one of the most extensive 13th-century stained glass collection of windows anywhere in the world. There was no line to get in (a miracle) and Mom loved it - even though she kept calling it St. Chantelle!

After we finished at the church - just a small walk to another one of our favorite Patisseries - Georges Larnicol in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. She had to try Kouignettes (a small version of kouign amman) because she's becoming kind of addicted to that sweet, flakey, buttery goodness...

Mom note: One of the many things that's made me giggle for years about my mom is that she'll hear something random, try to recall it, and then jumble it all up. For the life of her she can't remember names of anything - in any language - and it's been that way forever, and then she'll get about 30 percent of the rest of the story right... St Chapelle turns into "St Chantel", and then she'll tell you things that are kind of true with such conviction - you never try to correct her..
